Sultan of Oman receives President of Swiss Confederation
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received President Dr. Alain Berset of the Swiss Confederation, who began an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The President of the Swiss Confederation was accorded an official reception ceremony on Thursday.
Upon the arrival of the motorcade of the guest at Al Alam Palace courtyard, the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) band played a welcoming tune, to the accompaniment of trumpets.
After that, His Majesty the Sultan accompanied the President of the Swiss Confederation to the Dais of Honour where the national anthem of Switzerland was played, while the artillery fired a 21-gun salute for the guest.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying the President of Swiss Confederation, wishing them a pleasant stay.
In his turn, the guest shook hands with some members of the Royal Family, Chairmen of the State Council and Shura Council, ministers, and the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF).
After that, His Majesty the Sultan and the guest proceeded to the hall where they took coffee.
