Health Leaders Forum in Oman: A Two-Day Exploration of Sector Challenges
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Addressing the persistent challenges in the health sector, the Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) orchestrated the fourth edition of the Health Leaders Forum under the theme ‘Sustainability’ at the Radisson Blue Hotel in Suhar on Wednesday.
Chaired by H E Dr Hilal Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, the two-day forum brought together MoH undersecretaries, director generals of health services, and heads of hospitals and departments. The primary aim was to comprehensively assess the country’s health system, monitor ongoing projects, identify challenges within the health sector, and propose viable solutions. Emphasizing the importance of cooperation and shared efforts, H E Dr Sabti highlighted the necessity of diverse perspectives and innovative initiatives to advance the health sector.
The minister reaffirmed MoH’s commitment to addressing challenges by establishing databases and intervening in situations that fall under its mandate. During the forum, H E Dr Sabti meticulously reviewed completed projects and those in progress, encompassing initiatives such as the national electronic registry for diabetes patients, administrative decentralization, human resources governance improvement, smart budgeting, the Imdaad project, the Nujadid initiative, and the standards of human resources needs project.
