Oman, Comoros Conclude Joint Military Exercise “Shujaa Al Sahil 1”
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO), in cooperation with the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) and units from the land forces of the Union of the Comoros, has concluded a joint military exercise, codenamed “Shujaa Al Sahil 1” (Coastal Warrior 1).
A ceremony marking the conclusion of the exercise was held at a military training range in the Wilayat of Jabal Al Akhdar under the auspices of Maj. Gen. Matar bin Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman, and in the presence of the Commander of the Defence Force of the Union of the Comoros.
During the ceremony, the chief guest and attendees were briefed on the various stages of the exercise, including its strategic plans, objectives and operational components. The drill featured a range of training scenarios designed to simulate the roles and responsibilities of the participating military units under different operational conditions.
The exercise provided an opportunity for the participating forces to conduct joint training and strengthen coordination and interoperability among the units involved.
Earlier, Maj. Gen. Matar bin Salim Al Balushi held a meeting with the Commander of the Defence Force of the Union of the Comoros. The two sides exchanged views on military matters of mutual interest and discussed areas of cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces.
