President-elect Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan Poised to Swear Oath Within Three Days
Baku, The Gulf Observer: The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan has officially confirmed the results of the presidential elections held on February 7, 2024, according to media reports.
Following a comprehensive consultation, Farhad Abdullayev, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court, announced the decision of the Plenum of the Constitutional Court, confirming the results of the recently conducted presidential elections.
As per the official decision of the Constitutional Court and the final protocol released by the Central Election Commission, Ilham Aliyev secured victory in the presidential elections with an overwhelming 92.12 percent of the votes.
In accordance with Article 103 of the Constitution, the President-elect, Ilham Aliyev, is expected to take the oath within three days from the official announcement of the election results by the Constitutional Court. This formal swearing-in ceremony marks the official commencement of President Aliyev’s term, affirming his mandate as the elected leader of Azerbaijan.
The Constitutional Court’s validation of the election results underlines the commitment to democratic processes and the rule of law in Azerbaijan, ensuring the peaceful transition of power in accordance with constitutional provisions.
