Sharjah Municipality Unveils Initiatives in Celebration of UAE Innovation Month

Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: The Municipality of Sharjah City (SM) proudly introduces a series of groundbreaking projects and initiatives as part of its celebration of the UAE Innovation Month. Aligned with the digital transformation strategy, these initiatives harness the power of artificial intelligence to fulfill the objectives of the Emirate of Sharjah, enhancing vital services for the community.

The celebration unfolded at the municipality’s main building in the Musalla area, attended by esteemed guests, including Dr. Sulaiman Abdallah bin Sarhan Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Municipal Affairs Department, and Obaid Saeed Al Tenaiji, Director-General of the Municipality.

Emphasizing the municipality’s commitment to advancing services in alignment with Sharjah’s comprehensive progress, Al Tenaiji underscored the importance of fostering a culture of innovation among employees. He highlighted the significance of transforming pioneering ideas into tangible projects that contribute to the growth and development of the emirate.

Reem Abdullah Al Rossi, Director of the Human Resources Department and Head of the Innovation Team at Sharjah Municipality, revealed details about the “Smart Path” project, a creative initiative designed to automate inspection operations in public parking management. The project also includes monitoring the usage of inspection vehicles by department users, exemplifying the municipality’s commitment to efficiency and innovation.

The Global Inspection Device, another innovative project introduced by the municipality, is a pioneering apparatus tailored to meet the specifications required for inspections by the Central Laboratories Management.

A standout innovation is the Smart Lens system, an advanced technology devised by experts at Sharjah City Municipality. Leveraging an advanced optical language model, this system enables residents to conveniently submit audio and video complaints and observations to the municipality via the WhatsApp application, facilitating seamless communication between the community and the municipal authorities.

In addition to these technological advancements, the municipality has taken the lead in nurturing the talents of school students and youth. Programs like Innovative Engineer, Innovative Farmer, and Innovative Inspector have been introduced to enhance students’ skills, broaden their experiences, and familiarize them with the functions of Sharjah City Municipality.

The unveiling of these groundbreaking initiatives during the UAE Innovation Month reflects Sharjah Municipality’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation, embracing technology, and continuously elevating the quality of services provided to the residents of the emirate.
