Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met on Tuesday at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, emphasizing the significance of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes in achieving shared success between China and Germany.

Highlighting the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Germany, President Xi noted the resilience and growth of bilateral relations amid significant global transformations over the past decade. Despite evolving international dynamics, China-Germany cooperation has remained robust, contributing to the development of both nations across diverse sectors.

Amidst unprecedented global changes, President Xi stressed the imperative of major-country cooperation to address pressing challenges. As the world’s second and third largest economies, China and Germany bear a broader responsibility that extends beyond bilateral interests, impacting the Eurasian continent and the global community at large. President Xi called for sustained, strategic collaboration to promote global stability and certainty.

President Xi underscored the shared values and common interests between China and Germany, emphasizing that both nations have made substantial contributions to human civilization. He emphasized that China-Germany cooperation is mutually beneficial and contributes positively to global stability and development.

In light of global instability, President Xi emphasized the need to fortify the resilience and vitality of bilateral relations, stressing the importance of cooperation and development in nurturing enduring ties. President Xi reaffirmed China’s stable and consistent policy towards Germany, advocating for enhanced strategic trust through open exchanges and mutual respect.

President Xi highlighted the deeply interconnected industrial and supply chains between China and Germany, underscoring the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation. He emphasized the substantial potential for collaboration in traditional sectors such as machinery and automobiles, as well as emerging areas like green transition, digitization, and artificial intelligence.

In response, Chancellor Scholz acknowledged the positive state of Germany-China relations, noting extensive exchanges and successful high-level dialogues across various sectors. Chancellor Scholz reaffirmed Germany’s stance on upholding the multilateral international order, opposing protectionism, and advocating for free trade. President Xi and Chancellor Scholz engaged in an in-depth discussion on the Ukraine crisis, reaffirming their commitment to peace and stability based on the UN Charter principles.
