President of UAE Receives Indonesian Defence Minister and President-elect, Prabowo Subianto

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: In a testament to the enduring bonds between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of Indonesia, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Defence of Indonesia and President-elect, to Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

During the meeting, His Excellency Subianto conveyed warm regards from His Excellency President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, along with wishes for the sustained progress and prosperity of the UAE. In reciprocation, President Sheikh Mohamed extended heartfelt wishes for continued prosperity and advancement to President Widodo and the amicable people of Indonesia.

President Sheikh Mohamed reiterated his congratulations to His Excellency Prabowo Subianto on his recent triumph in the Indonesian presidential elections. His Highness conveyed his utmost wishes for His Excellency Subianto’s success in steering his nation through the upcoming period and fulfilling the aspirations of his populace. Moreover, President Sheikh Mohamed underscored his keen interest in leveraging the robust strategic ties between the UAE and Indonesia to deepen cooperation and foster shared development and prosperity.

During their deliberations, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Indonesian Defence Minister engaged in discussions on bilateral relations, particularly in the domains of defence and military affairs, and explored avenues for their enhancement to the mutual benefit of both nations. They also exchanged perspectives on various regional and international issues of common interest.

In recognition of his dedicated efforts and instrumental role in advancing cooperation between the UAE and Indonesia, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred upon His Excellency Prabowo Subianto the esteemed Order of Zayed during the meeting.

In response, the Indonesian Defence Minister expressed heartfelt appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and conveyed his pride in receiving this prestigious accolade named after the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a revered global humanitarian icon. He also expressed optimism for the continued development and enhancement of relations between the two countries to realize their shared aspirations for progress and prosperity.
