Kazakhstan Declares April 23 as National Book Day
Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan has officially established National Book Day, to be celebrated annually on April 23, as announced by the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information. The establishment of this day follows a governmental order and aims to foster a high reading culture within Kazakh society.
The initiative aligns with the directive from the Head of State during the 3rd National Qurultay, where he emphasized the importance of cultivating a love for reading among the youth. “Love of books is a great quality. Many countries celebrate national reading or book days. It is important to instill in the youth the love of reading. That’s the only way towards a reading nation,” the Kazakh leader stated during the session.
National Book Day will officially take effect from July 16, 2024, and is part of a broader effort to encourage literacy and a lifelong passion for reading across the nation.
