Trump Looks Forward to Meeting Kazakhstan’s President Tokayev at G20 Summit

Astana, The Gulf Observer: US President Donald Trump has expressed his anticipation of meeting Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the G20 Summit scheduled for December 2026, reaffirming Washington’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Astana.
According to the presidential administration Akorda, Trump conveyed the message in a congratulatory letter to President Tokayev on the occasion of Kazakhstan’s Republic Day.
In his message, Trump highlighted the progress made in bilateral relations over the past year, particularly in international peace and security cooperation and the conclusion of major commercial agreements benefiting both countries.
The US president also recalled that the United States was the first country to recognise Kazakhstan as an independent sovereign state in 1991. He reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to safeguarding Kazakhstan’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Trump further acknowledged the contribution of American companies to Kazakhstan’s economic development, expressing confidence that the growing partnership between the two countries would continue to deliver benefits for decades to come.
“I look forward to seeing you at the G20 Summit in December,” Trump wrote in the letter.
The G20 Summit is scheduled to take place in Miami in December 2026, with Kazakhstan participating at the invitation of the United States, which holds the group’s presidency this year.
The anticipated meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for the two leaders to continue discussions on bilateral cooperation, trade, investment and broader international issues, building on the expanding strategic partnership between Washington and Astana.
