Abdullah bin Zayed Chairs Second G20 Steering Committee Meeting

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired the second meeting of the G20 Steering Committee, which oversees the UAE’s participation in the 2024 G20 Summit. The meeting, held via video conferencing, brought together ministers and officials from various state agencies involved in G20 work groups.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the UAE’s ongoing involvement as a guest in the G20 and discussed the country’s participation in upcoming ministerial meetings. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed praised the efforts of all parties concerned with representing the UAE in the G20, emphasizing the importance of active participation in all aspects of the Group’s work. He highlighted the UAE’s commitment to multilateral cooperation and the significance of teamwork in showcasing the country’s achievements within the G20 framework.

The UAE is participating in the G20 as a guest for the third consecutive year and the fifth time overall since the Group’s founding. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed underscored the critical role of this participation in promoting the UAE’s global standing and its dedication to collaborative international efforts.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to active engagement in the G20, aiming to reflect the UAE’s achievements and contributions to global economic and social development.
