Advance polling continues in Samarkand

Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: Advance polling for election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan continued in Samarkand.

According to the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a voter who cannot stay at his residence on election day can vote ahead of schedule.

The time of advance polling is determined by the Central Election Commission, regional, district, and city election commissions. It is brought to the attention of voters and observers through the media. Advance polling begins ten days before the election and ends three days before the election.

According to the decision of the Central Election Commission of June 20 this year, advance polling in Uzbekistan began on June 28, 2023, and will end on July 5, 2023.

Early voting at polling stations is held on working days from 9:00 to 18:00, on weekends and holidays from 11:00 to 17:00.

During the Qurban Hayit celebrations, advance polling is also possible at 1112 polling stations in Samarkand region.

According to the Chairman of the precinct election commission Avaz Ziyoyev, the 7th Samarkand District Election Commission has issued the necessary number of ballots for advance voting. The population was informed in advance about the voting time.
