Algeria, Switzerland Reaffirm Strong Bilateral Ties and Explore Expanded Cooperation

Algiers, The Gulf Observer: Algeria and Switzerland have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across a range of sectors during a meeting between senior diplomatic officials in Algiers.
Secretary-General of Algeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lunas Muqraman, received the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Algeria, Mrs. Marion Wichelt, at the ministry headquarters on July 1, 2026. The ambassador paid a courtesy visit on the occasion of the commencement of her diplomatic duties in Algeria.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to commend the excellent state of Algerian-Swiss relations and the positive momentum they have gained in recent months. They also highlighted the significance of the visit to Switzerland by Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, on April 2, 2026, which contributed to further strengthening bilateral ties.
The two officials also reviewed ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting mutually beneficial partnerships that serve the interests of both countries.
