Azerbaijan and UK Discuss Prospects for Green Energy Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry, in collaboration with the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, organized a round table titled “Transition to Green Energy in Azerbaijan.” The event, which took place today, brought together key stakeholders in the field of renewable energy.
Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov led the discussions, focusing on the current state of renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan, decarbonisation efforts, energy efficiency measures, and ongoing projects. The collaboration between Azerbaijan and the UK, particularly in renewable energy and green hydrogen production, was highlighted as a significant area of cooperation.
Representatives from the Ministry of Energy, Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency, Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency, as well as major energy companies including “Azerenerji” OJSC, “Azerishig” OJSC, SOCAR, and BP, participated in the event. Discussions also addressed the strengthening of power networks and enhancing energy efficiency across the sector.
The round table underscores Azerbaijan’s commitment to transitioning towards green energy and its efforts to foster international cooperation to achieve energy sustainability.
