Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan and Belarus have discussed prospects for expanding bilateral military cooperation during a high-level meeting held under the framework of the 2026 Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening defense ties between the two countries.

The talks focused on opportunities to further deepen collaboration in the defense sector, including the exchange of experience and the enhancement of cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The discussions also explored ways to broaden existing military partnership initiatives in line with the growing strategic relationship between Baku and Minsk.

During the meeting, representatives of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense briefed the Belarusian delegation on the activities and responsibilities of the relevant military departments, while both sides exchanged views on maintaining order and discipline within the armed forces and ensuring the protection of military facilities. Questions of mutual interest were also addressed.

The meeting underscored the longstanding friendship and mutual trust underpinning Azerbaijan-Belarus relations, with both parties emphasizing the importance of continuing regular exchanges and expanding defense cooperation under the bilateral military partnership framework.
