Azerbaijan Highlights Middle Corridor Development at ADB Meeting in Samarkand

Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: Sahil Babayev, Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan, participated in the meeting of the Selection Group on the sidelines of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The meeting brought together representatives of member countries to discuss the strategic priorities of the ADB, ongoing development projects, global economic challenges, and opportunities to enhance cooperation and regional development.
During his address, Minister Babayev highlighted the importance of the effective cooperation framework established within the Selection Group, noting that it has significantly strengthened coordination among member states and supported the advancement of shared development objectives.
He further underscored Azerbaijan’s growing role as a key transit and logistics hub within the Middle Corridor, stressing the Asian Development Bank’s continued support for the initiative. Babayev also emphasized that the integration of digitalisation in the transport sector is improving efficiency and streamlining service delivery across regional logistics networks.
The discussions reaffirmed the commitment of participating countries and development partners to deepen cooperation and promote sustainable economic connectivity across the wider region.
