Azerbaijan Leads South Caucasus in Mobile Internet Speed, Global Index Shows
Tbilisi, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan has recorded the fastest mobile internet speed among the South Caucasus countries, according to the latest Speedtest Global Index released for June.
The report ranked Azerbaijan 46th out of 98 countries in average mobile internet speed, with 98.61 Mbps, placing it ahead of its regional neighbours. Georgia ranked 47th, while Armenia was placed 61st in the global mobile internet rankings.
Globally, the United Arab Emirates topped the mobile internet speed rankings with an average download speed of 672.87 Mbps.
In the fixed broadband category, Azerbaijan ranked 84th among 149 countries, recording an average speed of 92.18 Mbps. Armenia followed closely in 85th place with 91.69 Mbps, while Georgia ranked 107th with an average fixed broadband speed of 50.83 Mbps.
Singapore maintained its position as the global leader in fixed broadband performance, registering an average speed of 447.75 Mbps.
The latest rankings underscore Azerbaijan’s leading position in mobile internet connectivity within the South Caucasus, reflecting continued improvements in the country’s digital infrastructure and telecommunications sector.
