Azerbaijan President Honors Olympic Team with Orders and Monetary Rewards

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a presidential order to recognize and honor the members of the national Olympic team for their outstanding achievements at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games.
In a notable gesture of appreciation, athletes and their coaches have been awarded various honors, including “the Shohrat” Order, the “For Service to the Fatherland” Orders 1st, 2nd, 3rd Class, as well as the “Labor” Order 3rd Class, and the “Taraggi” medal. These awards are in recognition of their exceptional performances and their significant contributions to the advancement of sports in Azerbaijan.
Additionally, President Aliyev has approved monetary rewards for the athletes and coaches based on their medal placements at the Games:
- Athletes who secured first place will receive 400,000 AZN, with their coaches earning 200,000 AZN.
- Athletes who achieved second place will be awarded 200,000 AZN, while their coaches will receive 100,000 AZN.
- Athletes finishing in third place will obtain 100,000 AZN, with their coaches receiving 50,000 AZN.
This recognition highlights Azerbaijan’s commitment to celebrating and supporting its athletes’ achievements on the international stage.
