Iran Conflict

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency (MEDIA) has strongly rejected allegations published by online news outlets Middle East Eye and Haaretz claiming that Israel used Azerbaijani territory during its conflict with Iran, describing the reports as unfounded and misleading.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the agency said the allegations published on June 5 were based on “gross manipulation” and constituted “pure disinformation” lacking any factual basis.

According to MEDIA, the reports were circulated without credible evidence and appeared designed to distort realities surrounding regional developments.

“These allegations are intended to mislead the international community, create tension in the region, and undermine regional stability and interstate relations,” the agency said.

The statement stressed that the claims were aimed at creating unnecessary tensions and damaging relations among regional states at a sensitive time.

Azerbaijani authorities reiterated their rejection of what they described as false and unsubstantiated accusations, emphasizing the importance of responsible journalism and fact-based reporting in matters affecting regional security and international relations.

The agency called for caution against the spread of misinformation, warning that unverified claims can negatively impact efforts to maintain stability and constructive cooperation in the region.
