Azerbaijan Showcases Rich Cultural Heritage at International Folklore Festival in France
Paris, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage has been prominently showcased at an international folklore festival in the French commune of Montoire-sur-le-Loir, featuring traditional Azerbaijani dances, music, cuisine and cultural traditions.
Azerbaijan is represented at the festival by the “Rythm” dance group, with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Azerbaijani Embassy in France. Accompanied by the “Balabanchi” music group, the dancers performed traditional Azerbaijani dances in colorful national costumes, captivating audiences with their choreography and cultural spirit.
The festival also brought together folk ensembles from the United States, South Korea, Uruguay, Tahiti, Mexico, Slovenia, India, Slovakia, New Zealand and Sulawesi Island of Indonesia. Nearly 20,000 people attended this year’s event.
A special exhibition stand organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in France presented the country’s cultural heritage through artworks, carpets, musical traditions, cuisine, books and souvenirs. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about Azerbaijan’s history, traditions and cultural values while sampling traditional Azerbaijani food and wine. The stand attracted considerable interest from French and international visitors.
On the second day of the festival, Azerbaijan hosted a cultural dinner featuring traditional dishes, including ovdukh, eggplant chighirtma and shekerbura. The tables were decorated in the colors of the Azerbaijani flag and supplied with brochures introducing guests to the country.
The cultural program was further enriched by live performances of the “Balabanchi” music group, highlighting Azerbaijan’s distinctive musical heritage.
Through its traditional cuisine, music, handicrafts, dances and cultural traditions, Azerbaijan continues to promote its rich national heritage and strengthen cultural ties with international audiences.
The international folklore festival will continue through August 16.
