Azerbaijan Strengthens Trade and Investment Partnerships at St. Petersburg Economic Forum

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Minister of Economy, Elnur Aliyev, held a series of high-level meetings during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026 aimed at enhancing trade, logistics, transport connectivity, and investment cooperation with regional and international partners.
During discussions with representatives of the Russian Republic of Dagestan, including Fyodor Shchukin and Magomed Ramazanov, the parties explored opportunities to maximize regional logistics potential and revitalize the activities of the Azerbaijan–Dagestan Intergovernmental Commission.
At the federal level, Aliyev met with Vladimir Ilichev to discuss the implementation of joint investment projects and measures to increase bilateral trade. The Azerbaijani side also presented a targeted list of domestic products aimed at expanding export volumes and diversifying trade flows.
Regional transport and commercial cooperation featured prominently in talks with Sezai Uçarmak. The discussions focused on expanding e-commerce opportunities, strengthening trade relations, and advancing strategic transit initiatives that support regional connectivity.
Aliyev also held talks with Igor Babushkin, during which the sides reviewed prospects for enhancing transport and logistics corridors and deepening economic cooperation across the Caspian region.
In separate meetings with Artur Parfenchikov and Sergey Ponomarenko, discussions focused on identifying new industrial cooperation opportunities and developing mechanisms to strengthen ties between regional business communities.
The meetings underscored Azerbaijan’s commitment to expanding international economic partnerships, promoting regional connectivity, and creating new opportunities for trade, investment, and industrial collaboration through constructive engagement with key partners at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
