BRMA

Zhengzhou, The Gulf Observer: The Belt & Road Medical Association (BRMA), an initiative of the Belt and Road Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRISD), has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Guan’ai Future Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Clinics Project to promote the internationalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) along the Belt and Road countries, beginning with a pilot in Pakistan.

This landmark agreement, signed in Zhengzhou, Henan, sets the foundation for the first TCM clinic to open in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, with future expansion planned in other key cities. The project will be fully funded by the Guan’ai Future TCM Clinics Project.

The agreement was formally signed by Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, Vice Chairman of BRISD and Director General of BRMA, and Mr. Peter Du Zhonghe, Director of the Guan’ai Future TCM Clinics Project. The signing ceremony was attended by high-level representatives from China and Pakistan, including Qaiser Nawab, Chairman of BRISD, and other dignitaries from the China-Pakistan International Cooperation Center.

The collaboration focuses on integrating TCM into modern healthcare systems, offering treatments for chronic and stress-related conditions such as coronary artery disease, thyroid and breast nodules, vertigo, varicose veins, insomnia, and anxiety-related disorders. It also supports TCM training and certification programs, cross-border healthcare tourism, and academic exchanges.

BRMA, established under the BRISD, is committed to promoting the sharing of medical knowledge, best practices, and holistic healthcare solutions for a shared future among Belt and Road countries. Through this collaboration, BRMA aims to bring the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine to a broader global audience.

Dr. Shahbaz remarked:

“This partnership is a historic step in enhancing China-Pakistan health diplomacy. With the support of Guan’ai Future, we envision TCM not only healing individuals but also building bridges between cultures.”

Mr. Peter Du added:

“Combining ancient Chinese wisdom with modern science, we are determined to redefine healthcare delivery through international cooperation. Pakistan is a valued partner in this journey.”

Qaiser Nawab, Chairman of BRISD, shared his appreciation for the initiative:

“We are proud and fully committed to supporting BRMA in its mission to promote Traditional Chinese Medicine across Belt and Road countries. This partnership reflects our belief in integrated, people-centered healthcare, and opens new doors for innovation, healing, and solidarity between nations.”

Earlier this month, BRISD Chairman Qaiser Nawab and Dr. Shahbaz visited the headquarters of Guan’ai Future TCM Clinics in Zhengzhou and held in-depth consultations with Mr. Peter Du. The discussions led to a shared vision for long-term cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The partnership will be further spotlighted during the First Annual Conference on Future Traditional Chinese Medicine, to be held in Changsha in the last week of June 2025, where global experts and stakeholders will convene to discuss future innovations in TCM.
