President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Awards Toyota Fortuner to Winner of National Horse Races

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree awarding a white 2023 Toyota Fortuner SUV to the winner of the traditional horse races held earlier this month in celebration of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, Turkmen official media reported on Thursday.
According to the presidential decree, the award—a white Toyota Fortuner passenger car, model year 2023—will be presented on behalf of the head of state to the winner of the jockey-mentor competition, a prominent feature of the equestrian festivities.
The traditional horse races are held annually in Turkmenistan to commemorate the country’s rich equestrian heritage and are part of the celebrations marking the National Day of the Turkmen Horse. These events are a significant aspect of the New Age Renaissance of a powerful state, a period aimed at fostering national pride and cultural preservation.
On April 23, 2025, the 15th session of the International Ahal-Teke Horse Breeding Association was convened at the Aba Annayev International Academy of Horse Breeding in the city of Arkadag. The event brought together experts, breeders, and enthusiasts to discuss the advancement of the globally renowned Ahal-Teke horse breed and to reaffirm Turkmenistan’s longstanding commitment to the development of equine traditions.
President Berdimuhamedov’s gesture reflects the government’s continued support for national heritage and the prominent role that horse breeding and equestrian sports play in the cultural identity of Turkmenistan.
