BNPT to Establish National Preparedness Center in West Jakarta
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) announced plans to establish the National Preparedness Center in West Jakarta this year. The initiative, led by Fanfan Infansyah, head of BNPT’s general affairs bureau and chair of the technical team overseeing the project, aims to enhance Indonesia’s resilience and readiness in countering terrorism.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Infansyah emphasized the center’s strategic significance in bolstering the nation’s defense against terror threats. The facility will also serve as BNPT’s primary hub for coordination efforts and the rehabilitation of terror convicts.
Additionally, the center will function as a platform for evaluating collaboration among law enforcement agencies and organizing counter-radicalization initiatives. Highlighting its broader purpose, Infansyah stated, “The building will also stand as a symbol of national integration.”
The establishment of the National Preparedness Center marks a significant step in Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen counter-terrorism measures and foster inter-agency cooperation.
