China and Mexico Commit to Strengthen Bilateral Ties During G20 Summit
Rio de Janeiro, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations during a meeting on the sidelines of the 19th G20 Leaders’ Summit. The discussion underscored mutual priorities for deepening economic, cultural, and multilateral cooperation in the new era.
President Xi congratulated Sheinbaum on her historic election as Mexico’s first female president and recalled his 2013 visit to Mexico, which he described as a memorable milestone in fostering ties between the two nations. Highlighting their shared traditional friendship and aligned perspectives on international issues, Xi emphasized the potential for greater collaboration.
“China and Mexico share similar views on advocating inclusive economic globalization and multilateralism. By leveraging the complementary strengths of our economies, we can advance practical cooperation and contribute positively to global economic development,” Xi stated.

“Despite the geographical distance, our ties remain close, reflecting our shared values and mutual respect. Mexico is committed to working with China to explore new opportunities for cooperation and uphold multilateralism for a fairer global order,” Sheinbaum remarked.
