China Pledges 100 Million Yuan in Humanitarian Aid for Myanmar Earthquake Relief

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: China has announced 100 million yuan (approximately 13.9 million U.S. dollars) in emergency humanitarian aid to assist Myanmar in its earthquake relief efforts, a spokesperson for the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) said on Saturday.
At the request of the Myanmar government, China will also dispatch two rescue teams and provide essential relief supplies, including tents, blankets, first-aid kits, food, and drinking water, which are urgently needed in the affected areas, spokesperson Li Ming stated.
The first batch of aid is scheduled for delivery on Monday, and China has pledged to offer additional assistance based on Myanmar’s evolving needs.
The announcement follows a devastating 7.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday, leading to 1,002 fatalities, 2,376 injuries, and 30 missing persons, according to the State Administration Council’s information team.
China’s rapid response underscores its commitment to humanitarian support and regional solidarity, ensuring essential aid reaches those in need.
