Chinese President Extends Congratulations to OIC Summit in Banjul
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping conveyed warm congratulations on Saturday to the commencement of the 15th session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s Islamic Summit Conference, held in Banjul, the capital of The Gambia.
President Xi emphasized the significance of the OIC as a symbol of unity and independence among Islamic nations, highlighting its pivotal role in fostering cooperation and upholding international fairness and justice.
In his message, President Xi underscored the enduring friendship and partnership between China and Islamic countries, rooted in a longstanding history of camaraderie. He acknowledged the mutual support and collaboration between China and Islamic nations, particularly in addressing issues pertinent to their core interests and shared concerns.
Over recent years, China and Islamic countries have witnessed tangible progress in practical cooperation, culminating in the continual elevation of their bilateral relations. President Xi cited these advancements as exemplary instances of South-South cooperation.
Expressing China’s commitment to nurturing and deepening traditional friendships, President Xi affirmed China’s readiness to bolster political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, promote cultural exchanges, and jointly implement global initiatives such as the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative.
