Eight Civilians Martyred, 33 Injured in Indian Strikes on Six Locations, Says DG ISPR

DG ISPR Rejects India's Baseless Allegations, Demands Evidence Be Presented

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has strongly condemned a series of overnight Indian airstrikes that struck multiple civilian areas across Pakistan, resulting in the martyrdom of eight civilians and injuries to 33 others.

Speaking during a press briefing early Wednesday, Lt Gen Chaudhry described the attacks as “unprovoked and cowardly acts of aggression,” revealing that Indian forces had carried out 24 strikes on six separate locations within Pakistani territory.

“Last night, cowardly India launched 24 attacks on six locations within Pakistan, resulting in the martyrdom of eight innocent civilians,” the DG ISPR stated. He detailed that five civilians, including a young girl, lost their lives in Ahmadpur East alone. In Muzaffarabad, Bilal Mosque was struck, injuring a child and damaging the structure, while Abbas Mosque in Kotli and another mosque in Muridke were also targeted. The Muridke attack killed one civilian and injured another.

Further damage was reported in Kotli Loharaan village near Sialkot, where an artillery shell landed, and in Shakargarh, where a dispensary sustained structural damage.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry emphasized that the Pakistan Army is delivering a “strong and comprehensive response” to what he termed “baseless Indian aggression.” He announced that media representatives would be taken to the affected areas later in the day to document and expose the scale of the destruction caused by the strikes.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve, he declared, “The Pakistan Army retains the full right to defend our sovereignty, and our military response is already underway.”

Officials have urged the international community to take immediate notice of the latest escalation and to hold India accountable for violating international norms and targeting civilian infrastructure.

The situation remains tense along the Line of Control and other affected regions, as Pakistan continues to monitor developments closely.
