Erdogan Warns of Serious Consequences Following Israel’s Ground Offensive in Lebanon
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a stern warning regarding the potential ramifications of Israel’s recent ground offensive in Lebanon, stating that the consequences will differ significantly from previous military actions in the region.
“The consequences of a ground operation in Lebanon will not be similar to Israel’s past occupations,” Erdogan declared during his address at the opening session of the 3rd Legislative Year of the 28th Term of the Turkish parliament. This statement came shortly after Israeli troops and tanks commenced their movement into Lebanon.
In his speech, President Erdogan condemned Israel’s actions, criticizing what he described as a nearly year-long “genocide” in Gaza and the recent “terrorist attacks” in Lebanon. He accused the Israeli government of attempting to provoke conflict among regional countries. “Driven by the delusion of ‘promised land,’ after Palestine and Lebanon, the Israeli government will set its sights on our (Turkish) homeland,” he warned, underscoring the serious implications of escalating tensions.
Erdogan emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “Occupation, terror, and aggression are right next to us. We’re not facing a state bound by law, but a horde of killers that thrives on blood and feeds off occupation.”
Reiterating Turkey’s stance, he affirmed that “Israeli aggression also targets Türkiye,” and pledged that his government would oppose what he termed state terrorism “with all the means at our disposal” to safeguard the nation and its independence.
Erdogan’s remarks highlight Turkey’s firm position on the ongoing conflict and its commitment to addressing perceived threats to regional stability and security.
