Field Marshal Asim Munir Visits POF Wah, Reviews Defence Production and Export Potential

Wah, The Gulf Observer: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the defence industrial complex, Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, where he reviewed the organisation’s production capabilities, export potential and its role in strengthening the country’s defence industrial base.

The Field Marshal was briefed on the various activities of POF and its contribution to bolstering national defence, and was also apprised of matters relating to the indigenous manufacture and development of different categories of military equipment.

During the visit, he witnessed demonstrations and trials of “locally designed and manufactured weapons and ammunition.”

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was further briefed on the progress made in the process of transforming POF into a corporate entity, as well as on ongoing indigenisation and upgradation efforts.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), two new industrial plants are being installed at POF, with production expected to commence by the end of the current year.

During the visit, the Pakistan Army reiterated its resolve to promote self-reliance, indigenous production and technological innovation in the defence sector.
