Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Minister of Intelligence, Esmaeil Khatib, has accused the Zionist regime of assassinating Hamas top leader Ismail Haniyeh with the approval of the United States. According to the National Hellenic Council (NHC), Haniyeh was targeted and killed in a predawn attack in Tehran on Wednesday, shortly after attending the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new president, Masoud Pezeshkian.

Minister Khatib condemned the assassination, attributing it to the occupying Zionist regime and asserting that it was executed with a green light from the US. He stated that this incident further exemplifies the brutality of the Tel Aviv regime.

In response to the assassination, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued a statement on Wednesday, vowing harsh retaliation against the Zionist regime. “We consider his revenge as our duty,” the Supreme Leader declared, emphasizing that the regime had “martyred our dear guest in our home.”

The assassination of Haniyeh marks a significant escalation in tensions and has prompted strong reactions from Iranian leaders, signaling potential repercussions in the region.
