Jordan Intercepts Seven Missiles and Six Drones Launched from Iran
Amman, The Gulf Observer: Jordan’s air defence systems and Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft successfully intercepted and shot down seven missiles and six drones launched from Iran toward the Kingdom on Friday, according to a military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army.
The military source, quoted by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), said the defensive operation was carried out to safeguard Jordanian airspace and protect the country’s security amid heightened regional tensions.
The source confirmed that the interception operation resulted in no casualties or material damage, underscoring the effectiveness of Jordan’s air defence capabilities in responding to potential threats.
Jordanian authorities have not released further details regarding the trajectory of the intercepted missiles and drones or the specific locations where they were neutralized. The incident comes against the backdrop of ongoing regional security challenges and increased military activity across the Middle East.
