Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow recently engaged in a phone conversation, according to a statement from Akorda. The discussion underscored the significant progress in Kazakh-Turkmen relations and addressed preparations for President Tokayev’s forthcoming visit to Turkmenistan this fall.
During their conversation, the leaders emphasized the need to further enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including transport and logistics, energy, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
In a related development, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu held a telephone discussion with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Raşit Meredow. The talks focused on advancing bilateral cooperation, addressing multilateral issues, and reviewing regional and international matters of mutual interest.
