Kenya Hosts Dutch Royalty: President Ruto Welcomes King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima

Nairobi, The Gulf Observer: President William Ruto hosted His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for a State banquet at State House on Tuesday night. The Dutch royalty, accompanied by Queen Máxima, arrived in Kenya on Monday night for a four-day state visit.
During the banquet, President Ruto highlighted the strong ties between Kenya and the Netherlands, stating, “The event honours our past, celebrates our present, and embraces our future.” He concluded his remarks by inviting the attendees to raise their glasses in a toast to the enduring friendship between the two nations and the well-being of their peoples.
In an official communiqué, the Kingdom of the Netherlands announced that the royal couple is accompanied by a delegation of ministers and business leaders. The visit aims to explore investment opportunities and strengthen partnerships between the two countries. The delegation includes companies specialising in agriculture, horticulture, irrigation, water infrastructure, and sustainable financing.
The Dutch government affirmed that this business mission aligns with the Embassy’s commitment to enhancing trade relations, strengthening food security, and advancing sustainable water solutions. The state visit will conclude on Saturday, March 20, 2025.
