LOLC Microfinance Bank Pakistan Inaugurates New Head Office, Reinforces Commitment to Financial Inclusion

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: LOLC Microfinance Bank Pakistan has inaugurated its new Head Office premises in Gulberg Greens, Islamabad, marking a significant milestone in the Bank’s expansion strategy and reaffirming its long-term commitment to promoting financial inclusion and supporting Pakistan’s micro and small business sector.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, Admiral Fred Seneviratne (Retd.), and Chairman of LOLC Microfinance Bank Pakistan, Krishan Thilakaratne, who served as chief guests. The event was also attended by members of the Board of Directors, senior management, regional leadership, field teams, and Head Office staff, reflecting the collective efforts behind the Bank’s continued growth.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Executive Officer Farooq Rashid expressed appreciation to the LOLC Group leadership and the Board of Directors for their continued confidence and support. He highlighted the Bank’s strong performance over the past year, attributing its success to the dedication of employees across Pakistan, and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to achieving further milestones in the future.
Chairman Krishan Thilakaratne underscored Pakistan’s strategic importance within the LOLC Group’s global expansion plans, noting that the Group sees significant opportunities to broaden financial access for micro-enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses. He emphasized that financial inclusion remains a powerful instrument for poverty reduction and sustainable economic development.
Sri Lankan High Commissioner Admiral Fred Seneviratne (Retd.) congratulated the Bank on its achievements and described the investment as another step toward strengthening the longstanding relationship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
