Oman Announces Official Working Hours for Ramadan

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman has officially declared the working hours for employees during the holy month of Ramadan, as announced by Oman TV.
According to the statement, the official working hours for employees in the state administrative apparatus units will be “flexible working hours,” commencing from 9 am to 2 pm. The head of each unit has the authority to determine suitable attendance and dismissal hours aligned with the established working hours. These may include options such as 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For Muslim workers in the private sector, the maximum working hours have been set at 6 hours per day or 30 working hours per week during the holy month of Ramadan.
This decision aims to accommodate the observance of religious practices and ensure a harmonious balance between work commitments and the sacred month of Ramadan. The flexible working hours provide flexibility for employees while maintaining the efficiency of the state administrative apparatus.
