Oman Participates in the 15th Session of ESCWA in Cairo

Cairo, The Gulf Observer: Represented by the Ministry of Social Development, the Sultanate of Oman actively participated in the 15th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), convened in Cairo.

Oman’s delegation, led by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, engaged in discussions addressing the escalating issue of inequalities stemming from successive crises in certain countries and population segments within the Arab region. The session also deliberated on strategies to tackle common challenges and reviewed the progress achieved in the field of social development.

Dr. Al Najjar emphasized Oman’s commitment to addressing social inequalities and promoting inclusive development in the region. She reiterated the Sultanate’s dedication to collaborating with ESCWA and other member states to implement effective solutions and initiatives aimed at fostering social progress and cohesion.

During the session, the delegation from Oman actively contributed to the deliberations, highlighting the importance of concerted efforts to address pressing social issues and enhance cooperation among ESCWA member states. The recommendations issued by the ESCWA committee during its 14th session were reviewed, with a focus on implementing actionable measures to drive positive social change across the region.
