Oman Shines at the 24th Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunisia

Tunis, The Gulf Observer: The 24th edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival concluded in Tunisia, marking a significant achievement for the Sultanate of Oman. Oman garnered 10 awards across various intellectual, value-based, and cultural categories, showcasing its robust presence at the festival.
Represented by the Ministry of Information through Radio Sultanate of Oman (Oman Radio), Oman TV, and the private radio FM “Al Wisal,” Oman stood out among 143 entries presented by 28 Arab institutions, including 20 contributions from members of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU).
Oman Radio secured five advanced positions in the festival’s competitions. Yousuf Humaid Al-Yousufi, Director General of Radio of the Sultanate of Oman, highlighted the continuous progress and quality improvements of Oman TV, noting that Oman Radio consistently wins trophies at GCC and Arab competitions. He attributed these accomplishments to the Ministry of Information’s comprehensive plans, which foster creativity, innovation, and skill development among media professionals through ongoing training programs.
At the festival, Oman Radio’s epic drama “Battle of Salloot” won a silver prize, while the radio program “Our Health” secured second prize in the “Mental Health” category. Oman Radio also achieved second place in the educational programs competition with a program addressing the issue of school dropouts. Additionally, Oman received awards for the radio contest “Ancient Architecture 2024” and the “Radio and TV Exchange Materials” contest for 2023.
Oman TV also excelled, winning four awards, including one for the documentary “Breathtaking,” produced by the Ministry of Information. Oman TV was recognized for its Joint Arab-European Television Production with the program “Markets and People,” and the documentary “Friday Gate at Nizwa Market” also earned an award. Furthermore, Oman secured second place for the TV program “Sharing,” which focuses on the bustling activities of Nizwa Market on Fridays, and another award in the general documentaries and programs category.
Al-Wisal Radio earned two awards, securing second place for its variety program “Primo” and another for the program “Healthy Life.”
This year’s festival highlighted the exceptional talents and creative endeavors of Oman’s media institutions, reflecting the country’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the media sector.
