Tel Aviv, The Gulf Observer: The Chinese Embassy in Israel said one Chinese was wounded in Israeli air strikes on Gaza and issued a safety reminder to citizens in the country on Tuesday.
The injured Chinese, who was working in Israel, is recovering well and in a stable condition, according to the embassy. The embassy reminded Chinese nationals in Israel to pay close attention to the local security situation, avoid going to or staying in high-risk areas, and keep a high alert to ensure their own safety.
The embassy said it would continue to work with the Israeli side to effectively protect the personal safety of Chinese citizens there.
One Palestinian was killed and five others were wounded in the strikes before dawn on Wednesday, Palestine News Agency Wafa reported, citing medical sources. The report said the dead man, 58, succumbed to the wounds he sustained in an air strike in the northwest of Gaza city.
The Israeli strikes came shortly before the Palestinian militant group the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) announced a truce had been reached after militants fired dozens of rockets at Israel following the death of person on hunger strike in Israeli custody.
