Pakistan Awami Quwat Chairman Meets Transgender Delegation, Pledges Support for Their Rights

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: A delegation of the transgender community, led by Saba Gul, met with Pakistan Awami Quwat (PAQ)’s Chairman Khaqan Waheed Khawaja in Islamabad to discuss key issues affecting the community. The chairman warmly welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the party’s manifesto, particularly its commitments to health, education, skills development, and economic empowerment.
During the meeting, Chairman Khawaja emphasized that the transgender community has been historically marginalized, with successive governments failing to address their issues over the past 78 years. He reaffirmed PAQ’s dedication to creating an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of gender identity, is treated with dignity and respect.
“The transgender community is a reflection of our commitment to honor and uphold the dignity of every individual in society. Our political philosophy is based on respect for all, and we consistently educate our workers to uphold these values,” Chairman Khawaja stated.
He also commended the efforts of PAQ members in ensuring respect and inclusion for the transgender community, stressing that their full participation in social and economic life is crucial for national progress. The meeting concluded with a commitment to work together for policy reforms that guarantee equal opportunities and rights for the transgender population.
