Prabowo Inaugurates Renovated Pancasila Sanctity Museum in Jakarta

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday inaugurated the renovated Pancasila Sanctity Museum in Jakarta following his participation in the 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony.

Prabowo, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the speakers of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), House of Representatives (DPR), and Regional Representative Council (DPD), toured the museum before formally inaugurating the renovated facility.

During the tour, the president viewed photographs and dioramas depicting events surrounding the September 30 Movement of 1965. He also examined a map illustrating Indonesian military operations to retake Madiun from Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) forces in 1948.

Culture Minister Fadli Zon briefed President Prabowo on various exhibits during the tour. The museum was revitalized under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture.

Following the tour, President Prabowo formally inaugurated the renovated museum, which was previously known as the PKI Betrayal Museum.

“By the grace of God Almighty, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate the renovation of the Pancasila Sanctity Museum,” he said.

Earlier, President Prabowo visited Lubang Buaya, the site where the bodies of seven Revolutionary Heroes were discovered following the September 30 Movement in 1965. He offered prayers at the Lubang Buaya well associated with the deaths of the heroes.

After visiting the site, Prabowo proceeded to a guest tent, where he greeted invited guests, including representatives of several friendly countries. He also interacted with students attending the commemoration.

The 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony was held under the theme, “Pancasila, Uniting the Nation Towards a Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”

Indonesia observes Pancasila Sanctity Day every October 1 in connection with the events of September 30, 1965, and to commemorate the Revolutionary Heroes who died during the incident.
