Shahdag, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their family members visited the Shahdag Tourism Complex on Thursday to review the newly constructed Lakeside Hotel.
Nazim Shirinov, Technical Director at Archico LLC, briefed the First Family on the progress of the hotel, detailing the completed work and outlining plans for its future development.
The Lakeside Hotel, designed to offer a luxurious and unique experience, will feature 122 rooms and a wide range of amenities, including sports zones, a Kids Care area, a modern conference hall, meeting rooms, and a ski school with two ski simulators. A first-of-its-kind MegaCord connecting lift will provide skiers with direct access to the hotel, linking it seamlessly to the broader cable car network.
The hotel’s picturesque location, overlooking a serene natural lake, will be complemented by surrounding restaurants and cafes, offering guests an unforgettable stay. The interior of the hotel will be adorned with national motifs, including Karabakh carpets, and handcrafted copper artworks by skilled artisans from Lahij. Additionally, a 250-seat restaurant will cater to guests’ dining needs.
The second phase of the project will introduce a walking park in the mountainous area near the hotel, further enhancing the complex’s appeal.
President Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also examined the construction progress of the Ski Club building within the Ski Stadium Complex. This facility will feature a café, briefing rooms, conference halls, and a press room. It will offer year-round skiing courses for children and club members.
The Ski Stadium Complex has been designed to meet the standards of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation, and it will host international events such as world and European championships. The complex will also include a 500-seat spectator stand, ensuring comfort for athletes, coaches, and fans. Several countries have already expressed interest in utilizing the facility for training camps.
