President Tokayev Congratulates Scientists on Day of Science Workers

Astana, The Gulf Observer: On the eve of the Day of Science Workers, celebrated on April 12, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with leading scientists from across Kazakhstan to mark the occasion and extend his congratulations, as reported by the Akorda press service. The meeting highlighted the important contributions made by the scientific community to the nation’s prosperity.
In his remarks, President Tokayev expressed heartfelt gratitude to the scientists for their dedication and impactful work in various fields of research. He underscored the pivotal role of science in an era of rapid technological advancements, emphasizing the need for systemic research and deep knowledge to propel Kazakhstan forward.
“In this era of rapid technology development, we must pay close attention to systemic research, deep knowledge, and science. I have already raised this issue at the recent session of the Ulttyq Qurultay in Burabay. Science is a beacon of a nation. I would like to emphasize again that the academic community is imposed with special responsibility,” said the President.
The ceremony concluded with President Tokayev presenting state awards to a group of distinguished scientists in recognition of their achievements. Additionally, several young scholars were presented with keys to new apartments as a token of appreciation for their contributions to the development of science in Kazakhstan.
Among the prominent figures who addressed the gathering were academicians Zhumabay Bakenov and Durvudkhan Suragan of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of Kazakhstan, as well as Anastassiya Kapytina, a junior research fellow at the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology.
The event served as a reminder of the vital role science plays in the development of Kazakhstan and the President’s ongoing commitment to fostering a robust and innovative research environment in the country.
