President Tokayev receives Abu Dhabi Ports Group CEO
Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Managing Director and Abu Dhabi Ports Group CEO Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, according to the reports of the Akorda press service.
During the meeting, the President called the development of Aktau and Kuryk sea ports ‘the strategic goal of Kazakhstan’.
Given AD Ports Group’s extensive experience in transport and logistics sector, the sides discussed the prospects of mutually profitable work in that sphere.
President Tokayev hailed cooperation between Kazakhstan’s KazMunyGas and AD Ports Group in terms of oil transportation via the Middle Corridor to Azerbaijan.
The Kazakh leader went on to share plans of unlocking the potential of the North-South route linking Eurasian and the Gulf, Africa and India. According to him, the throughput capacity of the route should increase by 70% from 9 to 15 million tons by 2027.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also welcomed the agreement between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and AD Ports Group on the creation of a joint enterprise wishing success in implementation of its projects.
