President Tokayev Reviews Kazakhstan’s Economic Development and 2027-2029 Budget Planning

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a meeting at the Akorda Presidential Palace to review Kazakhstan’s economic development, medium-term fiscal planning and key budget priorities for 2027-2029, the Akorda press service reported.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Head of the Presidential Administration Roman Sklyar, National Bank Governor Timur Suleimenov, Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber Alikhan Smailov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin, Presidential Assistant for Economic Affairs Nurlan Baibazarov and Finance Minister Madi Takiyev.
During the meeting, President Tokayev was briefed on the current economic situation, the socio-economic development forecast for 2027-2029 and the key indicators of the republican budget for the same period.
President Tokayev emphasized the importance of meeting Kazakhstan’s economic growth targets by the end of the current year and maintaining a balanced approach to the management and implementation of both republican and local budgets.
The President also highlighted infrastructure and social development as major priorities for the upcoming 2027-2029 budget period. He stressed the need to accelerate the construction of essential infrastructure and social facilities, including hospitals, children’s rehabilitation centres, cultural institutions and sports facilities.
The meeting focused on ensuring effective budget planning and strengthening the alignment of public spending with Kazakhstan’s economic and socio-economic development priorities.
