President Xi Engages with American Representatives in Beijing

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping convened a significant meeting with delegates representing American business, strategic, and academic sectors in Beijing on Wednesday, underscoring the pivotal nature of China-U.S. relations and the mutual opportunities they present.

President Xi emphasized that the success of both China and the United States is interlinked, portraying each other’s prosperity as an avenue for advancement. He emphasized the importance of treating each other as partners founded on principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and mutually beneficial cooperation for fostering improved bilateral ties.

Highlighting the robustness of China’s economy, President Xi remarked on its sustained and healthy growth trajectory, noting that China registered one of the fastest growth rates among major global economies in the preceding year.

President Xi outlined China’s ongoing and forthcoming initiatives aimed at deepening comprehensive reforms, creating an internationally-oriented business environment, and extending broader development opportunities for international enterprises, including those from the United States. He urged the United States to align its efforts with China’s objectives, fostering a correct strategic outlook and addressing sensitive issues judiciously to sustain positive momentum in bilateral relations.

Among the esteemed attendees were Evan Greenberg, Chairman of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations; Stephen Schwarzman, Chairman and CEO of the Blackstone Group; Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm; Graham Allison, Founding Dean of Harvard’s John F.
