Sahiba Gafarova Visits Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in St. Petersburg

Baku, The Gulf Observer: As part of her working visit to the Russian Federation, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova visited Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in St. Petersburg.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation paid tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder and architect of modern independent Azerbaijan, by laying flowers at his bust located in the administrative building of the Consulate General.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova also donated books dedicated to the life and legacy of Heydar Aliyev to the Consulate General of Azerbaijan.

Later, the Consulate General hosted an official reception marking May 28 — Independence Day of Azerbaijan.

Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted the historical significance of Independence Day in the development of Azerbaijani statehood and reflected on the country’s achievements and progress throughout the years of independence.

The event also featured video presentations showcasing Azerbaijan’s development and accomplishments under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, described as a worthy successor to National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Independence Day celebration concluded with a concert program performed by renowned Azerbaijani artists, reflecting the country’s rich cultural heritage.
