Saudi Arabia Condemns Deadly Car Ramming Attack in New Orleans
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia strongly condemned and denounced a deadly car ramming attack in New Orleans, Louisiana, that targeted a crowd celebrating New Year’s Eve. The attack, which took place in the city’s French Quarter early Wednesday, resulted in the deaths of at least 10 people and left 35 others injured.
The suspect, identified as a 42-year-old man from Texas, rammed a pickup truck into the crowd before opening fire with a gun. The FBI has stated that the incident could be a potential act of terrorism. In addition to the gunfire, homemade bombs were discovered in the truck and scattered around the French Quarter. A Daesh flag was also found inside the vehicle, further raising concerns about the attack’s potential links to terrorism.
In response to the tragic event, a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned the violence in the strongest terms. The Kingdom expressed its complete rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, reaffirming its commitment to global peace and security.
The Ministry also conveyed Saudi Arabia’s heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the families of the victims, the American people, and the U.S. government, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.
