Saudi Arabia, South Korea ink MoU to combat transnational corruption-linked crimes
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: In a formal ceremony held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, Mazin Al-Kahmous, the President of the Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), and South Korea’s Prosecutor General Lee One-seok sealed a significant agreement by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This pivotal document signifies a mutual commitment between the two nations to collaborate in combatting cross-border crimes intricately linked to corruption. Beyond joint efforts to address these challenges, the MoU sets forth a shared objective to enhance and fortify the institutional capabilities of both entities. The agreement stands as a testament to the dedication of Saudi Arabia and South Korea in bolstering international cooperation and fostering greater efficacy in tackling transnational corruption-related offenses.
The signing ceremony was held on the sidelines of a meeting between Al-Kahmous and Lee One-seok and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the two sides held discussions concerning cooperation, sharing experiences and other matters of mutual interest.
Al-Kahmous briefed on the Korean delegation on the Kingdom’s notable accomplishments in safeguarding integrity and combating corruption at the local and international levels. He also listened to Korea’s experience in this field.
