Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Performs Eid Al-Adha Prayers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan performed Eid Al-Adha prayers today at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, joined by senior members of the ruling family, top officials, and worshippers.
Among those attending the prayers were Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with a number of Sheikhs, ministers, officials, and worshippers.
Delivering the Eid sermon titled “Our Eid is Sincerity and Sacrifice,” Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, underscored the importance of honesty and sincerity in strengthening individuals, societies, and nations.
He described honesty as the foundation of trust and a key pillar for prosperity and civilisational progress, noting that the UAE leadership established the nation on principles of sincerity, unity, and integrity from its earliest days, helping build a strong and stable state.
The sermon further highlighted that honesty reflects loyalty to one’s homeland and sincerity in serving the nation. Dr. Al Darei said truthful and dedicated citizens safeguard their countries through their actions and commitment, while sincerity is also reflected in protecting national interests, defending the country, and rejecting attempts to undermine stability.
He added that honesty is embodied in parents raising children with strong values, teachers remaining devoted to their mission, employees carrying out responsibilities with integrity, and all members of society contributing to the UAE’s continued development and prosperity.
Following the prayers, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers at the mosque.
His Highness and the attending Sheikhs also recited Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
