Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Visits Gulfood 2025

Dubai, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today visited Gulfood 2025, the largest edition of the global food and beverage exhibition to date. The event, which runs from February 17 to 21 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), features 4,595 exhibitors from 106 countries under the theme ‘The Next Frontier in Food’.

During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed commended the remarkable growth of Gulfood over the years, noting that the 30th edition is the most expansive in the event’s history, bringing together leading international companies and showcasing over a million products under one roof. He highlighted the exhibition’s significance as a vital platform for fostering partnerships and facilitating trade agreements in one of the world’s most essential industries.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the exhibition aligns with the UAE’s commitment to spearheading global efforts in food innovation and sustainability, reinforcing the country’s role in ensuring food security and supporting sustainable development. He further stressed that Dubai continues to serve as a global hub for knowledge exchange and collaboration, addressing contemporary challenges and driving advancements that enhance quality of life worldwide.

The Ruler of Dubai also underscored the importance of the exhibitions sector in achieving the ambitious objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the emirate’s foreign trade and expand its network to 400 key trading cities by 2033. He noted that major exhibitions such as Gulfood create opportunities for global stakeholders to explore new business prospects and strengthen cooperation with the private sector.

Accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Sheikh Mohammed toured the expansive exhibition, which spans nearly one million square feet across 24 halls. He visited several national company booths, recognizing their crucial contributions to the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051.

Among the local and GCC companies he visited were Farzana and MGM, where he was briefed on their products and operations. He also toured various international pavilions, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to enhancing global trade relationships in the food and beverage sector.

Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed on the tour were Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority; Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai and Director General of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority; and Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality.

The 2025 edition of Gulfood is focused on strengthening trade relationships in the F&B manufacturing sector and expanding commercial ties across key global regions, including Africa and Latin America, alongside the Middle East.
